Felt By The Skin
Sometimes I think of a bullet
Shattering my collar bone as it enters
Tunneling vertically through my body
Forcing its way down through my heart
Expanding a precise path in the thickest center.
^
But at other times I think about you
About sleeping next to you
As we regenerate and strengthen each other
With warmth going deeper than what our skin can feel.
