...ence, it was kind of obvious that she was also leaving for university, although you didn’t expect that she would be in the same university as you, not to mention that you wanted to cry too when you boarded the train, but you held it in. Soon after, a waiter came to take your orders. You ordered the chicken breast with mashed potatoes and vegetables, save the peppers. She ordered a chicken noodle soup and a tomato sauce and veal sandwich.

“Did it hurt when you left your parents?”

She blinked. “My parents?”

“Yeah, when you got on the train,” you muttered, recalling your own experience, and looked away.

“My parents died in a car crash fifteen years ago. It was my Aunt I was crying for when I got on the train,” she said, and sighed, “but it’s okay now. You don’t need to worry about me. I’m surprised someone I don’t even know could be so kind.”

Her eyes glistened.

You decide to change the subject.

Uh oh. No one's written this branch yet. :o

Author Guidance for this Story

Aurix Well if you're wondering, this was written before "Linear Stories" were introduced, so, more or less I've come to realise that only one branch of this story should exist.

The intention of the story is to have a gentle narrative that progressively gets more emotionally intense as the two protagonists, Matthew and Claire, weave and intertwine to form a deeper and more meaningful relationship.

Matthew: 19. Son of Mark and Kate Levine, Born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Difinitive, and of amiable nature. Direct with diction, strong with rhetoric, quick to please, weary of quarrels, but being in, makes it that the opponent is weary of thee (see Hamlet 1.3.67)

Claire: 18. Daughter of Henry and Emma Falstaff, Born in Regina, Saskatchewan. Of a gentle, innocent, pleasant nature. She will be clear about her position, however, especially if she disagrees about something of great importance.

Final notes.

- I will not appreciate DSV (Drugs, Sex, or Violence) in this piece.
- Feel free to add supporting characters.. they are at school, of course.
- I will inject more elements of fantasy in due course.
