"Nothing," Savannah replied.
"Then why'd you say to call you back?"
"I just wanted to talk. That's all."
"Yes. So how's Sofie?"
I could hear the jealousy and anger in her voice.
"Just leave her alone. We're not together anymore."
"Oh really? But still. That's not going to stop me."
"But it's not her fault."
"Why would I choose to punish you, baby?"
I rolled my eyes and hung up. After taking an Advil, I fell asleep on the couch. Or at least I tried to. My phone rang suddenly. Ariana?
"Yeah?" I groaned.
"I came by to drop your car off," she said, "just needed to tell you that."
"Thanks," I said.
I meant it. This girl was the only one who managed to understand me.
"Well," she said, "yeah... I guess I'll be going."
"You want coffee or something?"
"Um, sure. I'll be up."
She hung up. I walked into the kitchen and started to brew the coffee. Someone knocked on the door. I let Ariana in. She sat down.
"I don't think Sofie's gonna stay with Noah too long and oh my god... you look like a mess."
I ran my fingers through my hair, handing her a cup.
"You... were drunk last night?"
"How can you tell?"
"You smell like alcohol. And cigarettes. And cheap perfume. Girls? Oh my god. Girls?!?"
"Damn... calm down. You should become a detective or something."
"If you expect to get back with Sofie you can't go around town screwing every girl you see."
"I didn't screw a girl."
"Oh really?" she questioned, as she started to drink her coffee.
"I screwed two."
And out came her coffee.
"Two? A threesome? Damn. Damn. That's..."
"I know. But I was drunk. And they came onto me. And I cried."
I sighed, taking my tie off.
"Sofie told me everything. About why you two aren't together."
"To be honest, I would've done the same thing. I mean... if she actually told me the parts she 'forgot'."
"Is Savannah really after her? I mean, Sofie."
"I think so. But she still hasn't done anything yet. I feel like she's not going to attack her directly. She's planning something big."
"But... we'll be prepared right?"
Ariana drank her coffee and left. She said she would grab a taxi. I slumped down into my couch. Savannah Hartlem. I didn't think she was going to attack Sofie because of me. She was using that as an excuse. She's not that crazy. I really thought until I fell dead asleep. Damn alcohol.
