6:04 p.m.

I opened the door to my room, watching Sofie shift in bed.

"Hey," I whispered, hoping she would wake up, "Sofie..."

She was sound asleep. I began walking closer, tapping her shoulder. She immediately got up. With a swift movement and without even looking at me, she kicked in my area hard. And it hurt a lot.

"Oh, crap, Wren... you freaked me out."

She jumped off my bed, while I clutched my little man.

"It's all good," I moaned.

"I'll get some ice," she said, running into the kitchen.

She came back in a second. She gave me the ice. I placed it on the area, and sighed.

"Why are you so paranoid?" I asked.

"Well," she said, staying on her knees, "you're not exactly the strongest or smartest of them all. I don't trust you enough I guess."

"Well, thanks," I muttered, sarcastically.

"Oh," she said, "I don't mean it like that, babe."

I smiled when she said that.

"Why are you smiling?" she asked.

"You said babe."

"No I didn't."

"Yes you did."

"Whatever. I don't mean it."

"Sure," I said, managing to get up.

"Sorry again," she said, walking out of my room with me.

"I ordered a pizza," I told her, "and rented a movie."

She ran her fingers through her hair. She seemed distracted.

"Ok," she mumbled, "that sounds good."

"You ok?" I asked.

"Yeah," she said, looking at me, "I'm fine."

She walked to the kitchen, searching for something.

"You have some beer?" she asked.

"You're 17, aren't you?"

"Well... yeah. But are you really doing this? You just turned the legal drinking age and I'm sure you drank before."

"Yeah... whatever. In the fridge."

She opened a can.

"Want one?"

I nodded. She tossed me a can. She sat next to me this time.

"Wren," she said, "thanks for letting me stay here even if you really did it for your own selfish purposes."

"No problem," I said, ignoring what she said after.

Someone knocked on the door.

"That should be the pizza guy," I said.

I opened the door to find a guy standing there.

"I believe she's yours," he said, throwing Adriana in.

"Who the hell are you?" I asked.

Sofie got off the couch.

"Adriana?" she whispered.

The guy checked Sofie out.

"Nice babe you got here."

"I know," I whispered.

He was my age... maybe a little older. Just a year or so, though.

"How'd you know she was with us?" Sofie asked.

"I'm a vampire, too, babe. I can sense things. I saw this newborn wandering the streets asked her a few questions and I came here. You shouldn't let her out of your sight. She killed freakin' 6 people and didn't dispose of the bodies. I had to do that. Luna's gonna be pissed. But... I'll talk to her for you."

He winked at Sofie.

"Who exactly are you?" I asked, getting a little jealous.

"I'm Noah," he said, "a part of the Council. Luna's right-hand man. I just happened to be wandering the street when I found your friend right here."

"Thank you," Sofie repeated.

"Anything for you, darling. But anyway, I better be going."

"No," Sofie said, "you can stay. Wren ordered a pizza."

"Wait," Noah said, "you're Wren? You mean Savannah's fiance?"

"I used to be her fiance... until that crazy bitch tried killing Sofie," I said.

"Why? You guys together?" he asked.

"We were kinda sorta together... but now we're just friends," Sofie answered, smiling.

Ariana groaned on the couch.

"Ok then... good. I'll stay," Noah smiled.

Sofie laughed, flirtatiously. She was supposed to be doing this with me. Shit. My plan just went back a million steps. Nah. I would get her back. Hopefully.

"You're apart of the Council?" I asked, suspiciously.

"Yeah," he said, "that's how I know Savannah. Well, not know her... just am familiar with her family. The Hartlem dynasty. Damn, they're powerful people. Luna just loves them, you know. Hopefully... Savannah's not that much of on your bad side."

"Oh she is," Sofie whispered.

"You'll be alright. Luna will love you. She likes pretty young vampires. She needs them to be on the Council. They would do tons of good."

"They can easily turn people since they would attract men or women. And we need to turn people when there's a shortage of vampires. Vampires are essential you know."

"Then why would she kill some?"

"She can tell if you'll do good or bad. She has some freaky power type thing."

"And how are vampires essential?" I asked.

This guy was full of crap.

"They balance out the food chain. Humans actually have a predator. And this evens out nature making us the most powerful. And Luna wants that for some reason. She has some bad experience with humans. She won't tell anyone, but she does. She's doing it for good though."

"Ok?" I said.

I heard a knock. Pizza. Noah would be dining with us tonight. Hopefully only tonight.

The End
