Forgive and ForgetMature

2:21 p.m.

I sat on the couch, thinking. What had I gotten myself into? What was my problem? Here I was, with my hot English teacher who I did the nasty with... and now I was pissed at him. For what? Were we even serious? No. Absolutely not. Our relationship wasn't exclusive. I mean, who cared? Apparently, I did.

Look at me. Thinking that that was my biggest problem. My newborn vampire best friend was on the loose, lives of innocent people at stake. And whose fault was it? Mine. Obviously.

"Want some iced tea?" Wren offered.

"No," I mumbled, biting my nails nervously.

"Hey," he said, "there's no need to freak out... she'll be back. If not, we'll find her."

"What about Luna? What about Savannah?"

"We have to focus on one problem at a time, ba_"

I stared at him.

"Sofie," he finished.

He got off the couch and walked into the kitchen. He gave me a glass of water instead which I drank gratefully.

"Thanks," I whispered, wiping my mouth.

"No problem."

I could see him smile every two seconds, just watching me like the cute little creep he was. I let him. He wasn't doing anything wrong. I kinda liked it.

"Wren," I said, "Savannah and you... you're engaged, right?"

"Well... yeah... but I'm breaking it off, obviously."

His ring finger was empty. My heart leaped.

"Why? She has the right to be extremely pissed."

"Yeah... at me, though. Not you."

"Well... she's gonna kill me anyway. Her or Luna."

"Her or Luna..." he repeated in a whisper.

I just looked at him, his face in deep thought.

"I'm sorry," he said, breaking from his trance, "I'm really, truly sorry. Sofie... I didn't mean to hurt you. I didn't know that this would happen. I didn't know that we would..."

"I guess it's not totally your fault."

"You're right. You were the one who was all over me in the first place."

"Well, to be fair, yes... but you always watched me like that. You just watched me. Like some sexy stalker."

"So I'm sexy?"

"Yeah. You can't really deny it."

"I know. I'm sexy."

I nodded.

"I think I'm gonna go and sleep," I said, after an awkward silence.

"Sofie," he whispered, "wait. I just wanna talk to you. I'm not gonna try and do anything."

"I know," I said, "I know you won't. But... I'm just tired. You can wake me up at around 6ish? I need a nap."

"Ok," he whispered, "you can sleep on my bed."

I walked into his room, shutting the door and snuggled into the covers. I closed my eyes, letting every worry escape my mind.

The End
