"Amy, slow down!" Amy smiled to herself. Even her friends couldn't catch up with her. She exhaled, coming to a stop. It was exhilarating, this adrenaline that pumped through her veins. Midnight runs were always so fantastic.
"What if we get caught?"
Vera. That stupid annoying girl. The only reason she was even with the group was because if they got caught tonight, they would need to blame it on somebody. Her lips curled into a smirk. "Afraid, Vera? We can always leave you outside of the fence. You know, if you're scared." Her friends snickered. A surge of confidence colored her cheeks. She could see Vera's face harden. She rolled her eyes. She needed Vera on her side, no matter how much she disliked her. "We won't get caught, Vera. We've done this thousands of times." She turned around, but Amy could feel Vera's eyes trained on her.
