"Oh come on," wheedles one of the female shifters, pushing closer to Falcon and fluttering her eyelashes at him. "You could use some company, come on."
Falcon backs right off, heart hammering. "No, no, really I'm fine, I-"
"But that's no fun," says another female, stepping up and nudging her companion out of the way. "I'd be lonely."
"Sorry, but... I..." Falcon steps away again, almost tripping over another shifter asleep on the floor. Next thing he knows one of the shifters has a hold of his arm and tries to wriggle up against him. With a yelp, Falcon skitters across to the other side of the room and dives behind Drake and Life.
"Leave him alone ladies," comes another voice, a deep masculine one. "If you want a friend tonight, come over here!"
The females move off giggling. Falcon breaths a sigh of relief and pushes back up against the wall, the cold stone sending shivers up his back. Dane would have pissed himself laughing at this, he thinks, burying his head in the crook of his elbow. Despite the masses of people in the bunker-cell, it is surprisingly cold. He peers over momentarily at Life, snuggled in Drake's arms with a look of bliss on his face. His heart twinges, remembering the nights when he and Eternal used to curl up together in whatever camp they were in at the time, feeling her comforting warmth against her. Suddenly he feels very alone. He's never been this lonely before.
Oh Eternal, he thinks, I miss you so much. Please hold on, I'll come as soon as I can.
Please don't leave me.
