"Nightmares," mutters Falcon. "They don't sound like an attractive prospect."
Drake shakes his head and looks at Falcon expectantly. Falcon ignores him and starts pacing, chewing his lip as he goes. He desperately wants to help Eternal, more than anything. Watching her suffer day by day is tearing at him, and he knows Drake speaks the truth when he says he knows a way to help. But can he really bring himself to abandon his friends again? They've already been through so much and many of them are still injured or sick. Leaving Alaric and Rosemary seems like sacriledge at this stage, their mother is already missing, how can he leave them now?
And yet, he thinks, unless I get Eternal back, I could lose her forever. I can't let that happen.
"Alright." he says. "I'll come with you. We'll leave first thing tomorrow, before dawn."
"Why not now?" says Drake, raising an eyebrow. Falcon sighs,
"Because right now I have to go and break the news to the others."
With that he turns his back on Drake and moves back into the cave. Dane looks up and limps over to meet him. Something wrenches at Falcon - Dane's been limping ever since they left the Blaze castle. Even with his leg straightened out, it was too late to get it back into normal shape. The limp will be permanent, no matter how much they try.
He's going to kill me for this, Falcon thinks as he walks up beside Dane.
"Hey, I need to talk to you about something..."
