Try to flee.

Trying to be careful and not disturb Carla, I cautiously looked forwards towards Steve, Crissie and Papa.

Crissie was fiddling with her coat, fighting to get something out of the pocket, and the birds were still firing away, just missing us by inches, but some of the metal balls reflecting off my parents' horns.

I started as Carla gave a gasp and yel of pain behind me and I turned my head sharply, feeling my neck click painfully, but ignored it as I saw she had her hand over part of her upper left arm. I saw the red substance trickling between her fingers, and her skin paled with ever second that went by.

I felt my insides burning with with anger, and my eyes glowed with the fury. How dare they!! I spread out my extra limbs, swiftly taking off and flying up towards the birds, who for some reason had stopped sending the metal balls at us.

I heard them all shout my name below me, (I saw Crissie talking into the same object that the lady with the coat must have been talking into) Papa being the loudest as he dropped the two humans on his back and spread his own wings, flying towards me.

'Don't hurt them, Tamago, they're on our side!'

As his voice - now not so calm - cut through my thoughts of revenge for them hurting my closest friend, I registered something trapping me - tapping into one of the humans' minds, it was known as a "net", but this one seemed different from the normal ones.

As I felt Papa catch me, my world blacked out in the same way that the dart had done when I'd first been hatched...

When I woke up, I was next to Carla who was sleeping, bandaged and skin returned to its normal colour.

I looked around. I was in a light grey room. There was a door, a window - the sun was just coming up - and there was... "Leather"... I recognised the smell and bounded over to one of the big things covered in it. It was dark brown, and as I scratched it I felt it calming me, feeling wondering on my claws...

I bounded back to the bed as Carla began to stir, and watched her, seeing her smile as her eyes registered me. I nudged her hand and she stroked me again, and I couldn't resist letting out a strange, continuous churr noise...

For some reason this made Carla giggle and I felt my spirits lift. She was happy, and so was I.

Then I remembered the events of the previous day... Steve, the birds...

I caught the smell of something approaching the door and looked over. It smelt like meat, but it seemed cooked, amongst other smells... Seemed to be almost like the INN food...

But I wasn't sure who was bringing it, though I knew it was a human...

The End
