"Kaze!" Mara called loudly, coming to a stop again. The breeze stopped, and a discernible
wind materialized into a whirling wall in front of her. Mara outstretched her left hand to
the wall, which reached to her and became a small, quickly spinning ball of air in her palm.
A shadow from a passing cloud briefly shaded Mara's face as she looked at her old
companion. She lowered her voice, talking to the wind once more. "This aimless walking is
getting us nowhere Kaze. Scatter, be my eyes and ears until we find what we're looking for."
With a whoosh the ball raced out in all directions from her hand, racing away from her into
a ever-expanding radius. Mara sunk to her knees, closing her eyes to help make sense of
what Kaze was sending her. The images flew quickly past one another in her mind, moving
as fast as Kaze was breezing. Short pale grass bent beneath Kaze, and small puffs of black
dust from the sand hazed her vision. A flash, there was a slender tree to her right. Flash,
another group of trees to her front left. Flash, a small puddle and a bush behind her. Flash,
a small, old trail emerged some distance ahead. Small snippets of sound buzzed quickly in
her mind as Kaze passed over the fauna, fading as fast as they appeared. With another flash,
Mara got a sense of a large bump of life, and focused Kaze on the bump, letting off the
search in the other directions. It was a girl, a young native just a bit shorter than Mara
herself. The girl was sitting underneath some trees down the path Mara had seen earlier.
A sinking feeling in her gut told Mara that this was the child that she had been looking for.
Mara released Kaze, standing up once more and started walking in the direction of the path.
