"It was seven years ago to the day that you were brought before the King to meet face
to face." Joshua began. "When you received your punishment, you were told that you
would have to endure it until certain conditions were filled. At that moment, for your body,
time stopped. Physically speaking, your body will never age past twenty-two. It will stay
locked in a repeating cycle of that birthday month until you meet the conditions set before
you. When you do, depending on the will of the King, you will then either age properly,
or be taken to the throne immediately."
"So, I'm always going to be twenty-two, no matter how long I actually live? Like eternal

that will only last until you complete your job and serve out your punishment."
True to his word, Mara's body never aged over the next forty-three years. At seventy two
years old, she was still as far from wrinkles, joint problems, menopause, grey hair and
senility as she was back on Earth. It had its benefits, such as quick healing when she hurt
herself, fewer illnesses, and constant energy to go about life. She kept her senses, without
fear of losing one or all of them, though sometimes she felt like she would welcome the
menopausal aspect of aging. For a woman who was old enough to retire, it felt odd
looking and feeling like a fresh college graduate. Somehow Mara doubted that she would
die of old-age or age related problems, if she died at all.
