Bright light from the afternoon gaze of the twin suns sparkled off the small pond hiding
in the depths of the rolling plains. The wind was dancing through the grass, making
large yellow-green waves over the ground. The busy humming of insects flitted off
and on again encircling the sight of two lone figures on the ground below. A small,
darkly clothed one lay curled up on the ground, peacefully unconscious of the world
around it. A larger, masculine figure sat near, watching over the sleeper. The wind ran
through the black locks, causing them to sway in front of the face of the watcher. Warm,
brown-green eyes, observed the scene calmly, without a single trace of emotion crinkling
A swirling wall of wind was quietly encircling the sleeping figure. The observer knew,
however, that that wind would instantly pick up to a terrifying strength and speed if he
should attempt to approach the other being. The wind was truly a formidable guardian,
hovering protectively over such a small life. The observer smiled slightly to himself, glad
at the sight of the wind doing its job so well, and doing it voluntarily. A minuscule
movement inside the wall caught his attention. The sleeping figure twitched, and a deep
groan was uttered. The other being was waking up.
The small creature uncurled itself, then arched back into a stretch with a large yawn. It
rolled over and rubbed it's honey colored hair while slowly sitting up and looking
around. The observer could now clearly see the feminine form of the woman who was
waking, back turned to her unknown guest. Her arms reached up above her head as she
continued stretching, then her voice rang out clear into the afternoon.
"Good morning Kaze."
