The pressure on her back intensified for a second in response. Mara took a breath and
nodding her head spoke again. "Right. So, um, can you show me the way? No wait, you're air
I can't see you. Um, well, I guess you could just push me in the right direction. I can feel you
no matter how dark it gets. But don't you dare lead me into a bush or off a cliff - I have no
intention of dying if you turn out to be incompetent!"
Mara could feel the pressure on her back wiggle a bit, as though the wind was laughing at
her speech. Then a sizable push forward made her stumble and she starting falling face first.
Mara's hands reached forward instinctively to catch herself, but with a sudden lurch she
stopped falling. Her hands dangled in front of her, not able to reach the ground below, and
she could see the clothes she dropped again at her feet. There was something hard, yet fluid,
that Mara could feel beneath her. It had caught her, whatever it was, and was pressing into
her chest and gut.
"Huh... Huff. Wh-what?" She gasped out.
The fluid, noisy, substance extended its reach and grasped her sides, then started pushing
her up. It kept pushing her until she was vertical once more, shifting it's grip as it did so,
and gently deposited her upright. It held her for a moment as she stood catching her breath.
Mara reached up with her left hand to hold her face, still panting from the sudden surge
of fear and adrenaline, and extended her right hand to look at it. Wonderful. I'm shaking
like a coward. It was just a fall, no need to get all nervous, I'm not a child anymore.
