Mara's scarf started prancing away, then came back to land on her face. She flung out a hand
to remove it, and the loudness of the song froze her movement. Mara cracked open an eye,
and still could see nothing. Her eye closed, then both eyes opened. Staring blankly into the
musical void, Mara almost didn't notice the first stirrings of a something around her.
Starting, Mara realized that her eyes could see the nothingness start to move, just a trickle,
and it was moving with the song. Mara watched as the trickle became a river, her hands
falling unnoticed to her sides, as she started to see light. It felt like it had been a very long
time since she had seen light, or anything really, and a tear escaped unnoticed as she
reveled in the iridescent movement around her.
The light swirled and eddied, heading for a single point far in front of her, and she watched as it split into several smaller branches. The branches twisted with the voice, moving faster
as the song's melody changed in speed and intensity. Mara looked at the light in wonder,
and saw that the separate branches were curling in on themselves. The light curled and
began spinning into an increasingly smaller spiral, and the light grew brighter and
brighter in those small points. Then an intense flash blinded Mara, and she covered her
eyes blinking rapidly.
Did the voice just stop the song? I could of sworn I heard it shout some words when the
light flashed. Aargh, I can't see! Did something explode?
