"All things begin and end with me, Mara. I have brought you here for you to learn this."
"Uh... What?" Mara wasn't quite sure how that answer was supposed to relate to her question. She wanted the King to explain himself, to apologize to her, not make arrogant statements that had no bearing on the situation.
"I have a purpose for you Mara, and I am sending you there to fulfill it. You promised
yourself my blessings before, and have accused me of being what I am not. I am not false
Mara, nor do I betray those that I bind myself to."
"I am sending you to a new place Mara, and you will be take the role that you thought I
abandoned. The bitterness in your heart will be your home until you allow me to purge it.
I will not allow you to escape what you must do Mara."
"But... That's not fair!"
"I am not fair. I will never be fair, Mara, for that will mean the end of everything you
cherish. No, I am Just, and this is your punishment for your actions Mara."
"Punishment for what?"
"You have presumed evil of me in your pride Mara."
"So you're sending me away?"
"I will never be away. I am taking you somewhere new. It is time for you to go."
"Go where? To do what?!"
"You will take one of my roles, and I will guide you. When you understand me with your
mind, and soul, and inmost heart, then I will bring you home. This I promise you, and I will
always keep my word."
With that booming command the light brightened to the point of blindness. Mara could
feel every part of her shudder with an awful finality. She felt a separation between herself
and the warmth, and then she felt nothing and lost consciousness.
