Silly love story
I always wish on stars, every night, but only one has my wish come true.
I go to dances with teenagers from all over the area. Whenever a slow song came on guys asked girls that they didn't know to slow dance. Most of the time slow dancing with a complete stranger is extremely awkward. You try your hardest to keep conversation flowing with meaningless questions, and you have to at least pretend that you are interested in what the other person is saying. I go to these dances every month, and have become rather good at small talk.
One month there was a dance on a battleship. I had been asked to dance at almost every slow song. Iwas getting tierd of fake smiling and acting interested. I wondered near the edge of the ship and realized that the stars had begun to come out. I looked at the first one I saw and whispered into my hands,
"Star light, star bright
First star I see tonight
I wish I may, I wish I might
Have this wish I see tonight.
I wish that I will have an unforgettable time tonight."
Then I blew the wish with a kiss to the stars. Immediately I was tapped on the shoulder. I turned around to see a boy in a Captain America sweatshirt. "May I have this dance", he said with a smile. I hadn't even realized that a slow song had begun playing. I immediately accepted and he lead me by the hand into the heart of the dance floor. As we danced the conversation flowed easily. I slimed because I thought he was funny and I was genuinely interested in what he was saying. About halfway through the dance he told me that I had beautiful eyes. My heart melted. After the dance we hugged and went back to our groups of friends. I had to leave early and wasn't able to find him before I left. I haven't seen him since. Still, I can't help but think of him every time I hear Taylor Swift's Enchanted.
