Empty Glasses

You stare through your half empty glass at the
distorted image of the girl you waste your wishes on.
She doesn't want you but you think it won't hurt.

There's a girl stood beside you holding a glass half full.
The girl you could have but who you will never want.
She keeps smiling because she really thinks it won't hurt.

You are always telling me that you're just so empty.
But the metaphorical concept sails over your head.
If you could stop thinking of her, tell me would that hurt?

There are hundreds of empty glass girls out there.
You say you only want one and how can you fix that?
I'll finish my drink before I tell you how much that hurts.
