Burst into tears and make up some fake story about how your favorite pet/relative/friend just died so you're not quite yourself...

Just then you did the only thing you could do, you lied... badly. But if it counts any, the tears were nearly real. With everything you've been through today, you feel like crying and this was the best way to do so.

"I'm... *sniff* ...so sorry... *sob* ...for my behavior. My... *loud sob* ...pet hamster just... *sniff* ...died!!!! Oh, I miss you... you.... youuuuu.... Hammie!!!!"

"Now if only Sarah will believe that, I'll be in the clear."
