Eat.

if i could eat my words,

id be given a gatekeeper for lips,

and  barbed wire fence for teeth.

a mind of stubborn thought,

a heart for liberty to breathe,

a soul of disbelief.

if i could eat my words,

spewed from my body they may,

smeared and smattered,

splattered and unflattered.

wretched profanity,

and incorrigible insanity.

if i could eat my words,

id be given a child for lips,

and building blocks for teeth.

a mind of flexible intelligence,

a heart for imprisonment,

a soul of faith.

if i could eat my words,

dribbled from my sheltered body,

wiped and cleaned,

restricted and gleamed.

blessed purity,

and immature obscurity.

The End
