Panic

Once my eyes were closed, it was much different then...
I didn't SEE the lumps, I just imagined them.
My bed did not exist, and the lumps were not of sheets,
They were misty blobs of essence, but still chasing me.

Free from my bed now, I was able to run
Or, that's what I was thinking, before I had begun.
I tried to lift my weight, from my left foot to my right,
but something poring down on me was too heavy to fight.

So then I had to face the lumps, whatever the hell they were
Moving at me, coming, coming, that part was all a blur.
Here they come! panic! panic! and when they finally got me,
All the darkness flashed to white, as though someone had shot me.
