My Dream For the Future
An Essay by...a boy
When I grow up, I want to be a superhero. When I am a superhero, I would save a lot people and be famous. But, when I become a superhero, the first thing I will do, is save mommy.
I will be very strong as a superhero, stronger than superman, so I would save mommy from him. If I'm stronger than superman, I'd be much stronger than him, and he wouldn't be able to hit mommy and make her cry. One day, he was hitting mommy really hard. I wanted to stop himand bit him, but he's really big and fat. He boxed me hard and my brain went fuzzy. Everything went dark, and I fainted, because I was weak. After that, mommy made me stay in my room. I can't protect mommy. So if I were a superhero, I'd be really strong and hit all the people the people who try to hurt mommy.
If I were a superhero, I would breathe fire! I would breathe fire hotter than a dragon's breath! If I could breathe fire, I would burn his back, to get revenge for him burning mommy’s back. One day, the coffee mommy had made for him was hot, so he dropped the entire pot all over her back. She screamed and was hurt really bad. Now she has large marks on her back. So I want to breathe fire all over him, so that he would scream instead. Then I would breathe fire on anyone who troubled mommy.
If I were a superhero, I would be able to run faster than Speed. If I could run really fast, I would lift mommy and run away from him forever. We tried to run away before, but we were too slow. He found us and began hitting mommy a lot. He then locked the doors and began putting wooden planks all over the windows. He hurt her so much that day. I could only watch. So if I were a superhero, I would run very fast, take mommy and run somewhere safe.
If I were a superhero, I would be able to make mommy smile again.
One day, mommy was screaming at night. He was with her. He had locked the door. I couldn't get in. I fell asleep listening to her yelling. When I woke up, it was really late at night and really quiet. I went to see if mommy was ok. The bedroom door was open. I looked inside, and he was gone. Mommy had a lot of bruises and cuts on her. She badly hurt. It was all red everywhere. I tried to wake mommy and tell her that he was gone. She didn't wake up. She was very cold and stiff. I kept shaking her, but she didn’t move. I yelled “Mommy, mommy wake up! He’s gone mommy, you can wake up!” But mommy never woke up. She would never see her happy again. Because of him...she never smiled again.
