DoomsdayMature

If any man knew what was going to happen on the day after the 20th December, 2010, then, perhaps, civilisation would still remain. Of course, claims had been made, as they had been at the end of the 20th century, about the end of the world, the coming of Doomsday, but nobody had listened then and nobody had listened now. If they had listened and prepared, if they had found shelter underground, then maybe, just maybe, there would be enough of mankind still enough to be classed as a species.

But there isn't any more.

A rogue band of humans - no more than twenty of us - left on planet Earth is not a species, not a civilisation... Not even a racial group. It is a society though. No matter how small it is, it will always be that. A society. A band of humans who survived the end of the world. A band of humans who experienced the world falling apart, who witnessed the Sun implode and die, who witnessed the beginning of a new age.

The Age of Darkness. The age where our Sun no longer shines. The age where darkness is a weapon used against us by the deadliest of all animals. Where light is our only safe haven, but an age where light is so rare that we can no longer tell the time. We no longer know where we are in orbit. Even the seasons cannot help us any more.

This is the beginning of a new age.

We survived the end of the Age of Starlight in our solar system. Now we must survive the Age of Darkness.

The End
