Doctor Who: Sing for absolution

Donna feels the true wrath of a timelord. (AU, set during series four of Doctor Who). Insired by the Muse song "Sing for absolution". All lyrics copyright Muse, Doctor Who and it's characters belong to the BBC- I'm just playing in their sandbox. Dark themes of violence and suggested sexual content, not for young readers. ...lips are turning blue, a kiss that can't renew, I only dream of you, my beautiful...

Bruises in varying shades of violet mottled her porcelain skin, once luminescent, now faded and grey. Flame red hair clung to damp cheeks as for what felt like the millionth time, she slid down the wall of her room. Once her sanctuary, now a dungeon.

She wrapped her arms tightly around herself, the only comfort she would recieve tonight. Rocking slowly back and forth as her sobs echoed about her head, her mind swimming under a heavy fog of pain and sorrow. She pulled herself from reality long enough to sigh and was dragged back again by a pounding on her door. It was him.

...tiptoe to your room, a starlight in the gloom...

She was silent as he burst inside, chocolate hair wild, deep brown eyes darker than ever. Donna avoided looking up as she knew what was coming. She'd felt it countless times before. His cold hands wrapped around her arms, dragging her to her feet, nails marking crescent moons into her soft skin.

"You know what I want, Donna?" he growled, "Do you?"

She said nothing, staring blankly at the floor. Whether she answered or not, he'd do it anyway.

"I've seen so much, been so alone," his voice dropped to a whisper, his fingers fiddled with the hem of Donna's blue cotton nightdress, hands raking up her thighs. Then he tugged at her hair, flinging her violently across the room towards her bed.

"Don't worry, it'll be over soon..."

...there's nowhere left to hide, in no one to confide, the truth burns deep inside and will never die...

The End
