Gravity is Heavier

Gravity is heavier
Than scientists would say
I cannot climb the ladder
Yet I will not strike the set

If you chose to leave me
No one else will see
The table was always empty
Just a cold mug of coffee

The clutter that is my life
Won't hum any softer
But for the shade of night
That sits with me alone

And nothing will block out
The distant ever-chatter
That mocks the soul alone
And tempts my heart to shatter
