It felt like a dream. A dream that made me go creazy everytime I thought about it. I tried to stop thinking about it, but it was like a memory that haunted me. "Babe?" a male voice echoed in my head, as I lay on the roof of a car, I turned my head to the side and realized that Gilbert was staring at me with concern in his eyes. I sat up and asked, "Sorry, did you say something?" He stared at me, as he leaned over to kiss me, before I casually slid off the car. "What's wrong?" he asked, trying to hide the hurt in his voice. "Nothing. I'm just not feeling too well. I think I might just be catching a cold. I don't want to get you sick. Could you just drop me back to my dorm? Please?" I lied, suddenly feeling that dull stabbing pain at the pit of my stomach. Guilt. "Yeah sure. Do you want me to pick anything up for you? Meds? Ginger Ale? Crackers? How about a nice hot bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup?" Gilbert asked thoughtfully. "No thanks. I just need to get some rest." I explained, as he pulled up in the parking lot of the residence building. "Do you want me to walk you up?" "No, I'll be fine. Quinn should be up in our room anyway, so I won't be alone. Bye, Gilbert." I replied, as I hugged him and exited his car.
As I walked the dark corridor toawrd my dormroom, my cell phone rang it's little tone indicating that somebody had just texted me.
I forgot to ask you, if you wanted to go to my brother's house warming BBQ...?
Yes or No
Love you always,
I smiled at the text message and typed in, "Yes" Gilbert's family was quite ...entertaining to say the least.
I entered the dorm room and silently made my way toward my bed. I slid my headphones on and listened to the song : Imagine Me and You by The Turtles.
As I drifted off to sleep, I dreamt of the girl named Angel.
