Mother

I stand in front of her, the woman I once loved so dear

Whose inconsolable cries of anguish I cannot bear to hear.

The love we shared so dearly gave us the greatest gift of all

Only for us to lose it by fighting over silly things big and small.

Our little angel brought us together in her death

In her death she taught us life, and with her love she showed us God.

Oh, what I wouldn’t do to go back in time and set things right

To keep her and my baby safe from harm and hold them tight.

Will she ever forgive me? I had left her without even saying goodbye

I hug her tight as she leans on my shoulder, and we cry and cry and cry.
