Max returned, accompanied by Sherrif Hawkins. Sherrif Hawkins sat opposite Daniel.
"Daniel, this may be one of our major breakthroughs on this case" he said slowly. "Will you be willing to help us set a trap for the killer?"
Understanding his hesitation, Jack hastened to assure him that he would have police protection. Daniel nodded. "Okay, what's the plan?"
"This killer sedates his victims before drowning them. We assume he is stealing your supplies to do that which means he must be breaking into your house to do so. Will you agree to have police officers stationed at your front and back doors, a CCTV installed and a plain clothes officer pretending to be a friend or relative residing in your house with you?"
"Yes" replied Daniel.
"It is vitally important that you do not tell anyone, not even anyone sharing your house with you about this. Do you understand?"
"Yes I do."
"Okay then. Give Max all the details about anyone residing in or visiting your house and we can lay our plans accordingly." Jack stood up and left the room.
When Jack returned to his office, he felt his mobile vibrate in his pocket. He took it out and answered.
"Sherrif Hawkins here. What? Oh right. Thanks for letting me know."
He went to Tanya's office.
"There's been another murder".
