The train rattled on nosily, and we all shuddered in terror.
We were running away.
I didn't need to leave a note like Ellie, because everyone I cared about was either with me, or dead.
Dead, and gone.
"Ellie..?" I whispered. "Where are we going?"
"I don't know. Wherever we want." She leaned over to me and kissed me on the lips, sending pleasure running through me. I loved her, so much.
I rested my head against the back of the ripped up train seat and slipped into sleep.
"Jerry you have to get up now." Nick's voice sounded close to my ear. "Get up."
I moaned and opened my eyes.
It was light outside, and the train was slowing. We were the only passengers.
"What's the time?" I wondered, aloud.
"Get up Jerry, this is our stop." Ellie told me.
"Jerry, we're the other side of the country. Any further and we'd be going backwards."
I pushed myself to my feet as we came to a halt. The doors slid open and we jumped out, yawning.
My mind was blurred that day. So much so that everything passed me by, and I remembered almost nothing.
The next thing I remembered was Ellie pushing me into a cheap chair on an aeroplane, and then I slipped once more into unconsciousness.
