...taring right back at me

Held by the hair, waving, silent cries

What’s going on in his mind?

Happening so fast before my trained eye

How can we watch a young man die?

Running away with tears from this clown

We’ve let this dead man down.

Hound

Author Guidance for this Story

Writing4Me I often hear about tragedies that may have been preventable. We should not turn a blind eye in fear but gather together and defeat the evil in this world. Sometimes, if people would just stick together and not live in fear we might actually be able to save a life.
This poem is based on a Greyhound bus murder near Winnipeg at the end of july 08.
