Saturday Morning

The following morning, and although still very much suffering, not least due to a lack of sleep worrying about the reaction to the split and utterance of a death threat, a part of Sally recognised the extra positive impact of the step she’d just taken, other than the obvious one of having finally gotten rid of Martin. That final confrontation with him had already had the positive effect of partially repairing her relationships with her neighbours, them promising to keep an eye out and call the police if he ever did return.

It was a small bonus, albeit a very important one. But in less than fourteen hours after she'd regained her singledom she again found herself on the receiving end of another stream of vitriol she didn’t think she deserved.

The End
