Gabriel snorted and felt around in the pack for a shirt while looking at the back of Dawn's neck.
“Sire?” Dawn said Gabriel had stopped moving a shirt half pulled out of the pack “are you okay?” Gabriel shook his head slowly.
“Fine” he said vaguely.
“Do you need any help?” Dawn frowned and twisted around pulling Gabriel's pack off his back and sitting it on the floor. He looked up at Gabriel who still gripped the clean shirt his eyes clouded. Dawn stood and gently gripped the prince’s shoulders, Gabriel's eyes snapped up to look at Dawn a frown on his face. “What’s wrong?” Dawn said firmly.
“Nothing” Gabriel said pulling out of Dawn's grip and moving back into the trees. Dawn sighed lifting the pack again and followed him slowly. “Are you going to watch me?” Gabriel asked as he turned to see Dawn behind him.
“No” Dawn smiled “but I’ll be able to tie that shirt better once you have that shirt off.” Gabriel sighed and looked at Dawn for a moment then realizing the tall angel was being serious he began to unbutton his shirt.
“Are you both okay?” Sylver asked as they returned to the small fire he had started.
“Fine” Gabriel said sitting down carefully.
“Gabriel your version of fine is as reliable as your timekeeping” Sylver said.
“I've been good with my timekeeping lately” Gabriel snapped he settled himself back and pulled his cloak over himself closing his eyes. Sylver smiled at him and did the same.
Dawn awoke as the still glowing fire popped loudly he rubbed his eyes and looked up to see Gabriel staring at the glowing embers of the small fire.
“Sire?” Dawn said and he heard Gabriel sigh. “Gabriel?” Dawn corrected and the prince turned his head to look at him. For a split second Dawn saw deep emotion in the prince’s expression then Gabriel frowned and his eyes were cold once more.
“Go back to sleep” Gabriel said he sounded sad and he turned back to the fire, Dawn sat up.
“Is everything okay?” he asked.
“Its okay” Gabriel said Dawn thought for a moment.
“I’ll answer a question if you answer mine” he said quietly mirroring Gabriel's words from the night before.
“What question?” Gabriel asked not looking away from the burning embers.
“What made you like this?” Gabriel did turn now, a frown on his face.
“Like what?” he asked.
“Your emotions are insane” Dawn said honestly “you flick in seconds from feeling to feeling and it confuses the hell out of me.”
“I do hope the hell isn’t in you to start with.” Gabriel smiled and then he sighed. “I've always been like this” he said Dawn shifted slightly pulling the cloak off himself and drawing his knees up to his chest.
“What are you thinking about?” Dawn asked.
“That’s two questions.” Gabriel said “and I don’t think here is the right place for this conversation.”
