Nithya stifled a yawn and looked down blankly at the timetable in front of her, second period she seemed to be observing a RS lesson, she knew Senka was in that class, conducted by Eae. She rubbed her eyes and lent over the desk searching for a pencil, her hand touched someone else's and Nithya jerked back in surprise.
Mr.Eae stood in front of Nithya, smiling warmly down at her,
"Mornin', want a coffee? Looks like you need it." Nithya smiled sheepishly at Eae and nodded,
"Yeah, guess I could do with one. I was up late marking some papers, kids today seem to write a book for every essay."
"Kids today? You sound like one of those old teachers." Eae chuckled as he walked over to the coffee machine. Nithya tensed and bit her tongue,
"It's nice to see them so interested in something other then TV for once." He smiled and placed the cup on Nithya's desk, she gave him a grateful smile and took the cup up in her hands. She peered at Eae over the cup, he was leaning against his desk that was placed in front of hers. He was wearing a black shirt, that had the top few buttons undone, and brown trousers, his shirt hung over his trousers and he had rolled the sleeves up slightly. Over his chair was a deep blue tie that he would put on before class started, his hair was an almost brownish-blonde that was slightly curly but controlled by the fact that his hair was the traditional boy shortness. His eyes were the most amazing blue that Nithya had ever seen, they seemed unnatural and drew you in until you felt like you were floating but for some reason they also made Nithya feel uncomfortable. The silence stretched on for longer as the two teachers regarded each other.
Eae suddenly clapped his hands saying, "Well," He pushed off the desk and started to turn towards his desk, "Class is going to be started soon, better beat those kids there." He winked at me and Nithya quickly drank the rest of her coffee and started picking up loose paper work.
"So what exactly am I meant to be doing?" Nithya asked as she and Eae walked down the corridor towards the RS room. Students bustled around them but made sure to move out of the way of the teachers.
"It's just something that the school does for every new teacher, helps them see what is meant to happen in lessons so that they aren't mislead by some of the more... 'tricky' students." Eae made a point of looking at Drake who was lent against the lockers, his hand draped around Loralei, he watched us as we walked past. Eae lent over and whispered,
"Just ignore him, remember, you're the teacher even if you are around the same age." Nithya tried not to look irritated, she knew how to act like a teacher! But then again she was only have meant to of started teaching. They came to the RS room, most of the class was already pouring in and Mr Eae smiled at her as they walked through the door,
"I believe that you should find the topic I am teaching of great interest."
"Indeed, we're going to be looking at the story of the Crossfire's." Nithya caught her breath but recovered quickly as Mr.Eae motioned for her to sit in the chair positioned at the back of the classroom. Nithya walked past Senka's desk and caught her eye, she said at an inhuman level,
"Be prepared. Don't react no matter what." Her sister looked at her confused but before she could ask why Eae called the start to the lesson.
He paced up and down for a while talking about what they had been learning last lesson (turns out they were learning about the tale of Lucifer). Nithya anxiously twirled a pencil between her fingers.
"So, since we have looked at a tale of an Angel I decided that it may be interesting to hear about the side that is never really talked about. Care to guess what?" Drake waltzed into the class room at that moment and sat down at a desk without so much as a word,
"Why Mr.Williams, you must be in a chipper mood today to grace us with your presence." The class snickered slightly and Nithya noticed Drakes ears turn red but he didn't reply. Eae carried on, various students tried to guess what they would be looking at, finally Lucas raised his hand and asked,
"Demons?" Mr Eae smiled and said,
"Very good, seems like not all of you are hopeless." The class looked at him blankly,
"Look at you all, you're all so vacant. Is it nice not being me?" Mr Eae joked handing out some text books.
"Right, so Demons. Now even though we may not learn about them often I'm sure a few of you must have heard the story of the Crossfires?" Most of the class raised their hands, Senka sat rigid in her seat but Mr Eae carried on smoothly,
"I thought it would be a good topic since we have our very own teacher and student who have the surname of Crossfire. Of course you are nothing like the story." Mr Eae cleared his throat and began the story of the Famous Crossfires.
"Before the time of Christ, and just after Adam and Eve there was a period where demons appeared. They were formed from the evil thoughts of men that were gained from the forbidden fruit that they had eaten, these demons were horrible creatures who feasted on human flesh, never being able to control their hunger. They were the bane of God who watched, torn, as these demons began to destroy the world that he worked so hard to create. In his great fury God decided to wash away all the evil that caused these Demon's to thrive. He created the great flood, allowing the single ark on Noah to survive. He waited until he thought that all of these demons were destroyed before lowering the great flood and allowing Noah to start again.
For a while peace was accomplished and the heavens cried in joy, but then, one dark and storm ridden night the ground began to ripple in the Bay of Naples, the place that was seen as the Hell on Earth, the ripples carried on for six hours, six minuets and apparently six seconds (this is where the numbers 666 comes from), and finally two great, lumbering, forms rose up from the ground. Around the world other such figures began to rise and that was when God discovered the place that the Demons had hidden in... Hell.
The Demons had banded together under the powerful Crossfire demons, said to be more powerful then God's strongest angels. The Crossfires were the most evil and dangerous demons known to man, their very name struck fear into anything that lived. They caused a massacre where ever they went, a trail of blood following behind them.
They began a war. A war so great that God feared that the world would, literally, be split in two. The sky was stained with blood and the earth was scorched with fire. Hell had risen to the surface. The battle ground was littered with demons, angels and humans. Finally, God himself stepped down from heaven to confront the Crossfire demons, a female and a male, God tried to make peace, he offered the Demons a new start but the Crossfires stabbed God in the back, they began to attack heaven. God was anguished at the destruction and finally brought the two Crossfires to their knees in front of him. They struggled and cursed him, finally God brought his great sword down upon their heads, killing them. Their heads stand at the center of hell now, warning all demons of what shall happen if they ever stand against the Lord.
The Crossfire branch of Demons was completely wiped out, their bodies scattered across the seven seas, and that is the great woe of God. The Crossfire Legend."
