"Never mind that!" Karissa shouted.

Matt's eyes widened. What could possibly be going on here that would put her so on edge?

Karissa took a deep breath. "Sorry, I'm sorry. " She looked over Jordan. "How do you feel?"

"I don't feel anything." Jordan replied. "Are you sure I got shot?"

"Yes. That would be the medicine. Now before I fill you guys in, I need you to try and remember exactly what happened to you and Brandy." Matt could hear the tremor in her voice.

He watched as Jordan bit his lip thoughtfully. He was about to speak when the loudest sound Matt had ever heard interrupted him. A loud klaxon alarm was playing at maximum volume all throughout the room.

"What the hell is that?!" Matt yelled, turning to Karissa.

Her face went white as a sheet.
