Jason looked up, the sky was turning black. Esmerelda followed his gaze. He cursed, "We got to get out of here."

"What? What's going on?"

"No time, we need to get out of here, though." Then he cursed again, "We are to far away to go to Victoria's house."

"Mine is right over there."

"Lead the way."

She nodded and pulled him along until they made it to her house. "Now, explain," she said the second that they were inside."

He sighed, "There is a Shade. A powerful one, by the looks of it."

"A what?"

"A Shade. They are like warlocks, only about five hundred times more powerful. I'll explain more later."

"Okay," she said looking worried.

"Okay, then. Come on Vicky let's go!" Amora shouted.

"No, Amora, I can't go with you."

"What do you mean? I'm not leaving you out here."

"Amora, you need to do this."

"But I just got you back! I don't want you to leave again. Promise me you will be okay!"

"I-I can't! You need to go now, other wise there is no hope for either of us."

She finally nodded and watched Victoria run away.

That night, they kept the windows closed and tried not to have to many lights on. Right before they went to be, Esmerelda said, "Aren't you worried?"

"Why not?"

"Well, Shades don't waste there power unless they have a reason to. So, since I've been a good boy and haven't done anything stupid lately, I think I'm safe."

She laughed, "So are we going to be okay?"

"Yep, at least I think so."
