Abandoned

The Life Gland is Sacred, those who defile it are an abomination.

-The Book of Ambu

Dr. N’tan was relieved to get rid of the little girl, T’kello had come to adore her, a telling weakness, fortunate for him, he loved power more than anything else and little T’killa would threaten it. Dr. N’tan knew just how threatening the little girl was. When he was doing experiments on N’silla’s DNA he wanted to check to see if his new Bioweapon would effect a half-breed. As he was preparing to test it on a tissue sample from T’killa he discovered something shocking.

T’killa was Q’den, she shared the DNA of two men instead of one. The only way this could happen is if the Ycerri women had stopped removal of the "Life" gland as the wretched Ambu called it. The practice of removing the gland was standard medical procedure on Nian. The gland enabled the genetic material of the first male to mate with a woman to be "integrated" on any child that was born by her. The integration would occur on every child the woman bore no matter who the father. Thousands of years before, after genetic testing was discovered, a social upheaval occurred and families were torn apart by the revelations that came about from the results of the testing. Shortly after, the government of the Nian province began to enforce the removal of the gland, against the teachings of the Ambu Religion. The Ambu believed that whoever a woman mated with the first time would be their life long "Pairing Mate" and should forsake all others until death. It was the root of the rift between provinces that lead to every war since. The Dr. quickly tested to see if the DNA matched any of the Men on the ship, it did not, it was the DNA of a native Ycerri with a peculiar genetic makeup.

The purple robot took the sleeping T’killa in its arms and walked away from the cave as the Nian command ship took off and released its Bio-weapon. The weapon exploded spreading its deadly virus over all of the surrounding Desp Mountains.
