On it's journey to Hastings the coach made a stop at Hildenborough, a village joined onto the town of Tonbridge, stopping at a café, for half an hour, then it was off to Hastings to continue the rest of the journey along the A21 road, passing through Tonbridge, Pembury, Lamberhurst, Robertsbridge, then Hastings, before finally stopping on the seafront.
Once off the coach, both the boy and his parents together had to wait for the taxi which would then take them up to the Ridge where they would be staying for a week at Netherwood.
On arrival the Pecks were greeted by the owners of the guest house.
The holidaymakers unpacked and made their way down to the dining room for lunch.
If anyone was two hours late for lunch at Netherwood they would still be served their dinner, not like boarding school where you had to go without if you turned up too late.
