Lou couldn’t find anything wrong with the wall or anywhere near it he stood back and raised his hands. A wall of fire covered the blank plaster for a spit second.
“Nope,” Lou shrugged “nothing.”
“Hm” Tairas moved to the blank wall and put his hands against it, suddenly his head cocked as if he was listening to something.
“Tairas?” Gabriel frowned but the quiet vampyre shrugged and turned to them.
“nothing.” He said quickly moving back to the half wrapped present.
That evening Gabriel lay on his bed trying to relax a little, but every time he felt even a little calmer his eyes would catch a movement or he would hear a low scratching sound and he would sit up sharply.
“This is ridiculous.” He snarled at the wall. Standing up he grabbed his night clothes and left the room.
Gabriel knocked on Dawn's door but there was no answer.
“He’ll be back soon.” Lou said from behind him startling the already jumpy vampyre.
“Where is he?” Gabriel snapped Lou just smiled and Gabriel growled. “Fine,” he growled “keep your secrets.” He opened Dawn's door and slammed it in Lou's face.
“Gabriel?” Lou said quietly opening the door cautiously. “What is it?”
“Dawn's not here so I'm getting some sleep.
“In here?” Lou asked smiling.
“You lot have the spare rooms and I'm jot one for sleeping on the couch so I'm sleeping here.”
“Because I'm tired and there's something wrong with that wall.” Gabriel said.
“That wall is fine, I told you that.”
“I don’t care what you told me Lucifer.” Gabriel snarled Lou's eyes narrowed at the name.
“Fine,” he said tersely turning away “believe me or don’t.” he walked out closing the door.
Gabriel settled down on the crimson silk sheets he could smell Dawn, the mix of sulphur and fire was unmistakeable.
“asshole.” He muttered.
“Anyone in particular?” a voice said Gabriel sat up sharply to see Dawn stood at the side of the bed.
“Your father.” Gabriel growled
“Ah,” Dawn smiled Gabriel frowned looking at him carefully.
“You look exhausted.”
“I am” Dawn said sitting down he kicked his boots off. “So," he smiled tiredly turning to look at Gabriel who was laying down again. “Are you my early Christmas present?”
