"Mom! We're home!" I shouted as Andrew and I helped Kat to the living room couch. She smiled at both of us, ditching her bag next to her feet and grabbing the TV remote.
"I'll get some peroxide and a few bandages." Andrew said quickly retreating into the house and up the stairs, I nodded. Kat giggled as a romantic comedy flicked on the television. Biting my lip, I sat on the couch next to her, wrapping my arms around her. I nuzzled my head against her neck, letting my hair fall in front of my eyes. Heat flushed through my cheeks as the two main actors began making out, my heart thundered and I looked up to Kat. She was too enamored in the movie to notice...Thank god.
"Here." Andrew said reappearing and ruining the moment. A growl passed my lips as I reluctantly moved from Kat's side and watched Andrew delicately clean and bandage her knees.
"Thanks Drew-Drew!" She chirped happily. I barely managed to hide a heavy scowl towards my twin. He smiled back to Kat then looked at me.
"You and I need to talk," He glanced at Kat and lowered his voice. "Just us two!" I narrowed my eyes at his; pulling my bangs out of my eyes so he could see my icy glare.
"Fine, my room." I looked to Kat, winked and turned on my heels. Calmly, I made my way through the house, up the stairs and down the hall. My room was at the very end of the hall, with the black door. Signs plastered all over its surface with many different slogans, some funny, others serious. Pushing the door opened, I placed my bag on the bed. Surrounding me on the walls were posters of my favorite music artists and bands. Others were snapshots of pictures I had taken or drawings I had torn from my overflowing sketch book.
Andrew shut the door and dropped his own bag at his feet, a concerned glance flicked from me before he searched his bag. Out from its confines came a book with multiple drawings and phrases etched into its cover. Taped near the bottom was a picture of me and Kat on her first day of high school.
"Want to explain?" He said in an accusatory tone. I pursed my lips and faked a smile.
"I have no idea what you’re talking 'bout. Don't you know it's rude to invade someone else’s privacy? What if I walked in on one of your wanking of sessions?" Andrew scrunched his face in disgust and thumbed through my journal. Amongst my doodles of vampires, werewolves, and random things were words penned in purple ink. His eye brows rose expecting me to say something, but I just shrugged.
"Fine." He sighed, scanning over the pages. "Here's your entry from yesterday....
Dear Journal, well life's been great. At least my music's been upbeat and hardcore, plus I recently was able to drive to hot topic to pick up some new clothes. I saw a sexy hoodie there and wondered what Kat would think of it, it had the Cheshire cat on it from Alice and Wonderland. I know she loves that movie; it was one of her favorite stories as a kid. :) *Sigh* I love caring for her and all, no doubt, but sometimes I wonder if she even cares for me as much as I care for her. The other day at school I saw her checking out that Daniel guy, that guy's trash! I hear that one of the girls gives him hand jobs in the girls bathroom....Maybe I'll take Kat to the movies, just her and me. We won't take Andrew though, he's as bad as Jason...Sure he might not want in her pants, but he doesn't appreciate Kat's assets and her wonderful personality.
Will pen more when I find time, <3 He who is immortal and shall always be...
I stood there gapping that he had read the entire entry. A pained but angry expression covered his face. "Is there something I should know?" he asked, hiding a rage maybe hint of jealousy in his voice. I frowned at him, suddenly pushing his against the wall and pinning his arms above his head. I may be lithe and smaller but I could throw my weight around if I needed to. My eyes leered near his, my breaths fanning over his face. My journal tumbled to the floor with a light thud.
"What's the matter Andrew?" I asked my voice dripping with a dangerous venom as I grinned. "Is it a problem that I care for my sister and want to treat her to a night at the movies? No, nothing's wrong with that. How about my need to protect her from Jason and his over active love life? No, older brothers are supposed to watch out for their sister's honor." Andrew turned his eyes from mine, dropping his gaze. I slammed my hands on the wall on either side of his head causing him to flinch.
"Get out of my room, Now!" Andrew froze for a moment before grabbing his bag and sprinting from my room. I sighed, fixing my hair and letting go of the tension in my body. Hiding my journal, I shut my door and returned to the living room down stairs.
"Everything alright?" Kat asked concerned. "I heard some noises..." I collapsed onto the couch next to her and hugged her framed tightly to mine.
"It's nothing Kat, Andrew and I just had a misunderstanding."
