"No," I whined and Logan snorted.
"Don't make me make you," he threatened.
"I don't want to," I complained. "I hate it!"
He narrowed his eyes. "Put it on in the bathroom."
"Oh my God, you're an asshole," I grumbled but was forced to snatch the bikini from his hands.
I didn't like the way my body looked in bikinis but he had tone out and bought one somehow. I suspected Walter or Kirk had something to do with it. It was red and simple enough. I sighed when I looked at myself in the swim suit. I looked sexy.
"Are you done yet?" he asked through the door. "I mean, seriously. It's a swim suit, not a tent."
"Shut up," I snapped and wrapped a towel around myself, gripping it at my chest.
I opened the door and he rolled his eyes with a smile. He was shirtless and I looked away, my face red. He held my hand as we walked down to the lake.
It was a hot day and the wolves were having a party at the lake. Logan wanted me to meet more of his pack members. So far the story of us just being in a simple human-like relationship was working. A few wolves were suspicious; especially since it's been a month. According to Logan, relationships like this don't last that long.
"Then what are we going to do for the next two months?" I asked as we walked to where we heard people talking and smelled hamburgers.
"Ignore rumors and enjoy being with each other," he said simply, putting his arm around me.
I smiled. I had noticed an increase in his open affections for me. I enjoyed it greatly. For my part, I hugged him as often as I could, not sure what else to do. He assured me we'd figure it out together, though.
"L-Dog!" one of the pack members said and he groaned.
"I'm not L-Dog," he said. "I'm Logan. Jeez."
"You must be the Annalise that's stolen him from us," the member said with a laugh. He did the salute. "My name is Howard. I've known this bag of fleas since we were cubs."
"Easy there," Logan said with narrowed eyes. "I might have to make you eat those words."
"Oh?" he challenged. "How?"
"A race," he answered, "as wolves."
Howard smirked. "And the prize?"
Logan thought. "How about.... If I win, you have to dig a hole."
He gaped at him. "Only cubs do that!" he said. Logan grinned cheekily at him. "Ugh. Fine. If I win, though...."
His eyes slid to me but Logan stepped between us.
"Out of the question."
"Oh, all right," Howard said. "If I win, you have to clean yourself."
"Oh gross," Logan shuddered but shook his hand. "Hold my towel for me, please."
I did so and stood by Ivan to watch the race. Logan transformed and I gasped like I had the night he fought for me. He was a large wolf and I could see why he was going to be the alpha. A female werewolf held up a flag, giggling, then let it drop. The two ran to the edge of the lake and back. To no one's surprise, Logan won. Though he was a wolf, I could tell he was smirking.
Howard growled then shook his head. He went to a patch of ground and spread his back legs so that the dirt he dug would go behind him. I giggled.
"He looks like a dog," I said behind my hand.
"That's the point," Logan said, back in his human form. "Ready to go swimming?"
I wrinkled my nose. "If I do that then I have to take the towel off!"
Logan narrowed his eyes again, a look I knew meant he was about to order me. He was doing that more often. At first I thought he was breaking his promise but now I knew it was all in good fun.
"Oh fine!" I said and bit my lip, looking around.
Most of the wolves were talking among themselves. There were a few that were watching the two of us. They were probably waiting for us to break it off. Finally, I let the towel fall. Logan's eyes widened and he took my hips gently.
"Okay, Mr. Wolfe," I said. "I'll race you to the water. First to jump off the dock wins."
"And what do I win?" he asked, pulling my hips to his body.
"What do you want to win?" I asked, my heart hammering as I put my hands on his stomach.
I was still getting used to flirting.
He seemed to think about it then, without warning, I was tossed over his shoulder. I screamed in shock and people laughed.
"Logan!" I shouted but he just jumped into the lake.
When we resurfaced, I splashed him.
"Jerk!" I said.
Others were jumping in now and I realized they had been waiting for him to go in. He told me that, even though they didn't know he would be the alpha, their wolves were starting to obey him.
He pulled me over by my waist and kissed me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back. He slid his tongue into my mouth and his hands started to wander to my ass.
"Don't even think about it," I panted and he smirked.
"Oh, all right," he teased. "Come on. There are two people you need to meet. One of them will be my beta."
We swam to the sand and approached two people. They were both men and one passed me a hamburger. I noticed they were leaning into each other a little and understood they were mates.
The one that gave me the burger did the salute.
"My name is Peter," he said. He had curly blond hair and the same blue eyes. "It is a pleasure to meet you. Logan has told us much about you when he's not locked up."
I blushed, knowing what they thought we were doing.
"And I'm Freddy," the other said.
He had brown hair that was cut short.
"It's great to meet you guys," I said. "Looks like you know how to throw a good party."
"You should see it when we run," Freddy said. "It's even better."
I was about to speak when another wolf came over. He had black hair but his eyes were black and I knew he was from a different pack.
"The human," he said with a smirk. "The human that smells like heaven."
"Back off," I snapped, noticing how his eyes lingered on my breasts.
"Surely Logan would be willing to share," he drawled. "After all, he is your master."
"Get out of here, Keith," Logan snarled, "before I break the law."
Keith just smirked, winked at me, then walked off.
"What law?" I asked.
"I can't attack a wolf from a different pack," he said.
"Does that happen of- Hey!"
He had taken the rest of my burger and I pouted. He chuckled and left to get me a new one.
"Are you guys really just dating or are you mates?" Freddy asked.
"But why?" he pressed. "You're different races twice over."
I sighed. "I am so tired of hearing that."
The comment about our different skin colors was mentioned more by the humans. Mixed race marriages were still touchy to some humans. It was annoying but I kept my nose out of it usually. Lately, though, it was getting on my nerves.
"Who cares what the color or our skin is?" I demanded and they looked at each other. "Is it any different than the two of you being the same gender?"
"I guess not," Peter said. "We didn't mean to upset you. It's just unusual I guess."
I shook my head and looked over my shoulder for Logan.
"Good God!" I gasped, my heart hammering and Logan grinned, handing me a new burger. "Give me a heart attack, why don't you?"
He laughed. "Sorry. I thought you heard me. I was walking pretty loud."
"She was too busy chewing us out," Peter said and I turned pink.
Logan laughed. "I know. I heard. Don't get this one angry. She has claws."
We all laughed and a wolf came out with a radio and hooked up someone's music player.
"Come on!" Logan said, pulling on me so hard I dropped my burger.
"You're such an ass," I grumbled as he put down his bottle of water.
He put his hands on my hips and pulled me until our chests were touching. I looked up at him. His eyes were focused on me as our bodies moved to the music.
"But I'm your ass," he said in a low voice.
"My favorite," I whispered and he leaned his head forward but didn't kiss me.
Our hips moved in sync with the music and I ran my hands down his biceps then back to his neck. The sun was setting when he finally kissed me. I stood on my toes and he lifted me off my feet. Suddenly, we were in the forest, the sound of the party behind us. Logan kissed me passionately, pushing me into a tree. I gasped as he sucked on my neck. I closed my eyes, my body warm from where his lips were. When he kissed my lips again, I pushed my tongue into his mouth and he groaned in longing. His hands slid up my back then came to the front when he reached the top half of my bikini.
He broke from my lips and pushed me against the tree again. His hands gripped my lips tightly and I winced a little as he bit and licked my neck.
"Logan," I panted and he pushed his lower half to mine. I felt his arousal and blushed. "Logan. Logan, you're hurting me."
Immediately, he let me go. He backed up a few steps, his eyes wide and panting. I put my hands on my hips and looked down. They were starting to bruise and he groaned, hugging me.
"I'm sorry," he breathed. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay," I whispered, hugging him back.
"I got carried away," he mumbled.
"Hey," I whispered and he looked at me. I kissed him gently. "It's okay. Just... be a little gentler with me and... and I don't know if this is the place for...."
I trailed off. He looked confused and I glanced down briefly. He groaned.
"Jeez. I'm sorry. Are your hips okay?"
"They should be," I nodded. "Wanna go back to the party?"
He nodded, too, and held my hand as we walked back.
