Prologue
Hello. Kiana here. Let me recap for you:
I'm dead.
Okay, enough of the recapping. I have to tell you how this has all gone down.
I was just sitting in the car, my iPod plugged into my ears, watching the traffic pass by my mom's little silver Audi. But suddenly the car lurched forward--no, not forward, to the left, where it should not be going at all, but it was. No doubt I was screaming my little red-haired head off. And you could hear this terrible scraping as our car was pushed into another. Then the lights went out.
But suddenly I opened my eyes and saw... me. Only I wasn't me. There was blood in my hair and my eyes had lost that fierce fire behind it. My jaw was slack and my mother was screaming my name, but I knew I was dead, and I knew I couldn't answer her, and I knew she just didn't want to accept that I was dead.
"Mom?" I said to her, even though I knew she couldn't hear me, "You just have to accept it. I'm dead."
There was an unexpected burt of light. I turned and saw millions of ghosts, or, more acurrately, angels, sweeping into this bright light.
And then a giant wind swept me off my feet to join these holy spirits in the sky.
