Day 40: Demetreus "Dee" Sharpp

Viewpoint: Dee

Music: Anita Baker, Sweet Love ___________________________________________________

For the next couple of minutes, Kel and I spoke about his new addition to his life. It was nice to not talk about school, the lack of my love life, or Starbucks but a new topic. I'm currently in school to get my bachelors degree in Social Work so that I can help people get back on track.

After Malik walked away, Kel accompanied me around the store as I returned items to their proper places.

Even though Kel was a very intelligent young man, I couldn't help but watch his lips when they moved. I didn't really listen to what he was saying but every once in a while I would nod my head in agreement or say "mmhhmm."

Kel then turned to me and asked me a question.

*Snap Snap*

"Demetreus... are you okay?!" Kel said, as he tried to get my attention.

"Sorry, I just faded into space just now." I replied.

His deep, dark toned laugh gave me goosebumps up my arm.

"I know this is random... but sometime this week coming... we should get something to eat, outside of Starbucks and away from school books."

I thought: "Is he asking me out?!? This is sooooo random."

I said, "Well, I'm actually busy this week as I have a lot of exams."

I thought: "Hmmm, I wonder if I play a game, if he'll bite onto my bait?"

He chuckled, "So, your not trying to fit me in your busy schedule?"

I giggled, "Well it isn't that easy to schedule my time."

Kel chuckled, "Well Mr. Busy... I'm pretty sure you'll make time for your favorite customer this week." He said as he started to walk away from me.

I smiled, "That's cute... so you're just going to walk away from me? I guess we'll have to see if I make time for you this week."

Kel chuckled again, "Oh! You'll make time... I know that for a fact."

"Really!" I proclaimed.

He subtly responded, "Really! See you later, Dee!"

I bit my lip in a seductive way and started to push my cart in the opposite direction.

"I guess its game on..." I smiled.

The End
