Funky Mood

Day 37:  Demetreus "Dee" Sharpp

View Point: Dee

Music: Jill Scott- So Gone (f. Paul Wall)

"I've been exhausted for the last couple of days....

I relieved Cherry and the other baristas so they could go home.

I just don't feel well today.

I walked over to them and smirked, implying that I am not the one to mess with today.

I don't want to be here today. I'm exhausted. School has been getting the best of me. I haven't been able to write any good poetry lately. I work constantly and haven't had a chance to breathe. All my friends are busy or with their boyfriends and I'm just left here...

I looked up at the center clock painted in a sweet red and a warm orange. "I love that clock... random thought. 7:03pm"

I walk over to the counter and start cleaning. The store is completely empty.

At least Cherry and the others cleaned so all I have to do is wipe and polish the stations. Such in a funky mood... ugh! Just want to go to sleep.

I hear the door open and I face the wall. I roll my eyes as I hear a customer walk in the door. I just don't feel like it today. I hope they order something small. UGH!

I turn around to meet eyes with the sexy studious Hispanic guy.

He looked down at my name tag and said to me, "Whats good, Demetreus?"

"Oh, how are you doing sir?" I replied.

"Naw, sir... you can call me by my name, Mikhael, Kel for short."

"K-Kel... well its nice to meet you, formally."

We both chuckled and I continued: "What can I get you?"

"Yo homie, you look tired, you good?"

I smiled... I thought: Don't call me homie! DO I look like your homie! Anyway but this is what I said. Breathe Demetreus, keep it professional."

I said, "Honestly, I'm exhausted... but that's not the point. What can I get for you?"

Then he said something... and I didn't catch it, but it was definitely sarcasm.

Kel responded, "Naw, I'm good. I'm just going to go study in my corner."

"Okay, if you need anything, don't hesitate."

"I won't..." Kel said as he walked away from me.

Damn! He got some sexy swag, too bad he's straight, I guess that means hands-off.

The End
