15 minutes later:
I walked upstairs to check on him. I felt horrible. I never meant to make him mad.
I knocked on the door and pushed it opened.
He popped his head out of the shower curtain.
"Diggy?" Kel said.
"Baby, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you upset." I remorsely reminded him.
He continued to lather himself up with soap. It looked like he rolled his eyes and went back behind the cover.
I felt horrible because if he did the same thing I would have been pissed.
I put my head down in disbelief. I slowly started to close the door.
"Deme-", Kel whispered.
I heard him but pretended like I didn't and closed the door. I felt bad and went to go get dressed.
I sat with my legs folded on the couch and papers scattered all around me. Today was a big day for me. I have my interview for a great agency that focuses on HIV and other sexual transmitted infections.
Its been a few hours since I last spoken with Kel. We stayed separated all day. I was reading over notes for my interview, when the doorbell ranged. Keke came out of the kitchen and walked over to the door.
"Hey gurl, you looking good!" Byron grinned.
Keke laughed, "boy, what do you want?!"
"Tell Kel, my homies are coming down to play some ball, so if he don't got plans..."
I put my head down.
Keke yelled up to Kel and no answer so she decided to go get his attention. Byron approached me.
"You don't like me, do you?" Byron uttered.
I looked down at my notes and ignored him.
"It's cool, if you don't." He continued.
I went into bitch mode and said, "I don't know you, not to like you. So please come correct."
He laughed, and I rolled my eyes.
Byron smiled, "Don't worry, I'm not trying to take your man, cause I'm straight."
I looked down at my papers, "even if you were gay, you aren't an threat. So what's the purpose of this conversation?"
Byron chuckled, "chill young sir, no need for attitude. I was just saying."
I stood up and sarcastically smiled, "okay, well when you start a conversation, it usually starts with hello."
Byron smiled as I started packing my things away.
Byron continued, "well hello, my name is Byron and I live across the street."
It's nice to meet you." I said as I walked into the kitchen.
