Born From a Flower: Chapter 11

Recommend

As the weekend ended and a new week was beginning it seemed like Emma had caught a small cold. Apparently it was going around in their family. Tailon caught it over the weekend and was just getting over it on Monday, however Emma was staying home, sick in bed.

Though she slept most of the day just to regain strength her mother wanted her to stay home the next day too. And so she did. But when she went back to bed again she never bothered to check her phone which had many missed calls and texts.

On Tuesday Emma was feeling quite better. She had woke around eleven o' clock and decided to fix her self something to eat. There wasn't much in her kitchen to be honest. Her mom hadn't gone to the store in a long time, so she just made do with what was there. Luckily there was some soup in the cupboard that she cooked up quite easily. After finishing eating and cleaning up, Emma went back upstairs to bed.

As she walked into her room she noticed her phone on the floor under some dirty clothes. She had forgotten about it, and when she had turned it on she only expected a few missed calls.

But it wasn't just a few missed calls.

There were many of them and texts from mostly Maggie, some from Tailon, and only a couple from Ace (which was no surprise form him). But she wondered why Maggie and Tailon had tried to contact her so many times.

She climbed back into bed and pulled the sheets over herself, trying to get comfy. Just as she was about to go through the texts her phone started ringing. It was Maggie.

Emma only sighed and answered it.

"Yes?"

"Where have you been for the past two days!?" Maggie yelled into her ear.

"I'm sick... well was. I'm getting better now."

"Okay. But you could at least have checked your phone!" Her voice was a bit frantic.

"Sorry! I forgot about it and only found it just now. Besides you know that I don't use my phone that much."

She sighed. "Yeah... but do you know how frustrating it is when I have very important news to tell you and you won't pick up?"

"Look Maggie, I'm sorry I missed all of your 50 billion calls. There. Now just tell me why you're calling."

"The secret is out."

"What secret?"

"That you're dating Ace!"

"Oh. That secret," Emma frowned. "I didn't know that was a secret."

"Are you serious? You're the one who told me and Tailon not to say anything."

"Well that was more of a strange promise or whatever. Not necessarily a secret."

Maggie groaned on the end of the line. "Fine then. What's important is that everyone knows. And when I say everyone, I mean EVERYONE."

"Okay.... but wait. How did they even find out anyways?"

"My god Emma! You went to a public zoo where probably lots of other people from our school went to too. How could one of those people not notice if they saw Ace?"

Emma put an arm over her eyes. This sure was exhausting. "Alright. To be honest, for now I don't really care. Of course that'll probably change when I go to school but right now I just want to sleep."

"That's fine I guess." Maggie sounded a lot calmer now.

"By the way how are you even calling me? Aren't supposed to be in class?"

"Lunch break. Wow, you really are sick." She laughed.

Emma gave a small smile. "I just forgot! People do these kinds of things when they're sick so don't blame me."

She stifled another laughed on the other end. "Okay. Well I gotta go, lunch break's almost over."

"Alright."

"Talk to you tomorrow."

"Yeah. Bye."

Emma hung up and put the phone on her nightstand.

It was true that at the moment she could really care less that people knew about her and Ace. Her main concern was rest so that she would feel better by tomorrow. But deep in her mind there was a small thing bugging her about it. Unfortunately, it wouldn't quit.

Before going back to class three girls decided to go to the bathroom to do their regular make-up check. Though one of them didn't actually wear make-up, she just went along to keep up appearances.

Once they were inside they moved to the sinks and mirrors.

"Ugh," A black haired girl named Megan said. "I can't believe Ace is going out with that one chick!"

"Yeah!" Another brown haired girl named Sally agreed. "I mean I can't even remember her name! How pathetic."

They both laughed. The third one only stayed quiet.

"They really don't match at all." Megan said.

"I know. He's all out-going, and handsome, and nice. And her? Well I barely remember her face." Sally replied.

"All I know is that we went to the same middle school. She was weird, like really quiet. She gave off this dark aura or whatever. It was freaky so no one really talked to her."

"Well that's not surprising."

The two were then done trying to fix their bad make-up job and hair. They exited the bathroom with the third girl right beside them.

"That's a bit sad though. I mean to have no friends at all. I rather feel sorry for her," The third one finally spoke up. "I mean if she needed someone to talk too I would try to be friends with her."

The two other girls both looked at her.

"That's our Blair. You're always so nice. To everyone." Megan said and patted her shoulder with a smile.

"Yeah," Sally said. "I'm actually a bit jealous of you Blair. I mean everyone likes you. You're smart and nice. And because you're so pretty it's like the icing on an already too good cake."

Blair blushed as they stopped in the hall where their classes were. They stood by the open windows and felt the breeze come gently in. "You guys are giving me too much credit."

They both snorted. Sally started, "Blair you're just too modest. That's what 's so good about you."

"Stop it." She blushed even more.

"Hey! You know who would be a good match with Ace!?" Megan suddenly said.

"Who?" Sally asked.

"Blair! Don't you think so?"

The two girls squealed and then went into a full blown conversation about the two.

When they remembered that their friend was still standing beside them they turned to her.

"What do you think?" Sally asked.

The tall, gorgeous, towheaded blonde gave a small laugh. "You really think so?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Yes. You two suit each other really well." Megan responded.

llmay Because I have a weird mind the setup of the school and the classes is very weird.

So in the school the students have to wear uniforms. You can imagine them whatever way you want because I won't really describe in the story.

In the high school (which I have yet to name) the classes are setup in a strange way. Instead of having a different teacher for each subject the students get assigned a teacher that teaches them the basics (like elementary school where you have one teacher and you're in the same classroom for the whole year). They do get passing periods but have to return to the same classroom.

For electives (in the afternoon after lunch) they have different teachers and do have to go around to other classes.

Other than that, enjoy :)

P.S. Expect new chapters soon (within two or three weeks)
