I realize it has been a while since I have last written. I had a scare recently and I have been on the move constantly, unable to sit down and continue. I recently had an encounter with the Fantalabri that was much to close for comfort. It had begun shortly after I left the old train car and started to travel by foot. Had I not woken up from my sleep late at night from the cold breeze blowing through the trees, I might have died.
I saw the beast; it was absolutely hideous. It looked quite humanlike, but it moved on all fours much like an ape. The monster was very large, like a giant, and was covered in fur. I could feel my heart pounding as I hid behind a large tree, hoping it would not find me. I could tell it know I was there as its constant sniffing of the air meant that it was picking up my scent. I was fighting back a scream of terror when I suddenly felt it scratching the tree I was hiding behind with its horrific, blood stained claws and I took the risk of running away from it. I grabbed my backpack from behind a large bush and took off into the woods, trying not to slip on the mud covered slope that flowed into the creek to the east. I heard the beast let out a terrible roar and it began charging after me. I ran for hours from the beast, treading through the water and the sticky mud on the hills to escape until it had me cornered behind a thick bush full of painful thorns. I will never forget ever seeing the creatures face as it nearly looked me right in the eye; its deep red eyes could easily penetrate you very soul and fill it with fear. Its teeth were long, and large, complete with serration, indicating that nothing would ever get away from it. But its horns were probably the worst part. They twisted and turned and formed a solid knot around its elongated, doglike snout and looked as though it was to prevent it from devouring every living thing it came across. This beast seemed to be the embodiment of fear.
After several days of running almost nonstop, with very little sleep or food for nourishment, I think I have finally evaded the creature. Right now I am hungry, tired, and I have no idea where I am. I have not seen civilization in many days and I am not sure how much longer I can last out here in this wilderness. I will try to hold out for as long as I can but I think I need help. I hear vehicles driving on a roadway near hear. I will see if I can find a settlement close where I can get food and water. I am still keeping a close eye on my surroundings though, because I know that there is no escape from the Fantalabri. No one escapes, it is just a matter of time before it finally catches its target: me.
