Guilt and an Unsuccessful Search PartyMature

Dawn grinned slightly falsely

“It’s a good job I'm a genius then isn’t it?” he pulled a piece of paper from his pocket and unfolded it an identical copy of Amarantine’s map was scrawled across it. Gabriel smacked Dawn gently around the side of the head the daemon grinned.

“Idiot” Gabriel said

“I thought we agreed on idiotic genius?” Dawn laughed. He looked at the map for a moment working out where they were then set off with Gabriel following him silently.

Morgan had stopped and she turned to the others.

“How many intersections have we passed?”

“No idea” Sylver said.

“Seven” came a small voice from the back of their group. The others parted as much as they could to see Chrys flushing slightly.

“Thanks” Morgan smiled warmly at him. Then she turned to Sylver. “Gabriel won’t know the way we've gone he won’t be able to find us”

“We’ll head back” Sylver said

“We can’t let Morgan or Chrys go back” Deacon said

“I’ll take the twins” Maxwell said

“I’ll go back” Deacon said “I have orders” he looked at the others.

“Everyone split up, go which ever way you want”

“Now why would you do that?” a deep voice said behind the group. They all turned to see Dawn behind them.

“Sire” Deacon said happily “Gabriel's gone” Deacon said Dawn stood aside as best as he could, revealing the grouchy vampyre.

“You’re okay” Morgan grinned. Gabriel gave her a half smile and took his bag from her.

“Thanks” he said.

“What did you do to your shirt?” she asked

“Dawn and I had a little disagreement” Gabriel said the rest of the group were settling down nearby. He pulled off the ruined shirt and rolled it up dumping it in his bag. Glad of the darkness as Morgan watched him he pulled a sleeveless back t-shirt on and lifted his bag up again.   Morgan wrapped her arms around him suddenly and he froze not quite knowing what to do Morgan let him go again.

“Sorry” she said. Gabriel shook his head.

“No I'm sorry” he said. The guilt from the fight with Dawn was catching up with him.
“Are you okay?” Morgan asked.

“Apart from the fact that I'm an arse” he said Morgan laughed.

“No you're not” Gabriel looked at her a look of disbelief on his face. “You’re not you're you and everyone needs to deal with that”
