Gabriel choked on a lungful of smoke.
“What?” he coughed.
“You’re our father” Morgan smiled.
“That’s impossible” Gabriel said it didn’t sound as confident as he'd planned.
“Because” Gabriel thought desperately “you’re both older than five. I first met your mother five years ago” Morgan smiled gently.
“You know as well as we do about the time differences” she said softly Gabriel felt numb he had no idea what to do with himself “I'm sorry” Morgan looked at Chrys. “Do you want us to go?”
“Go?” Gabriel asked he shook his head as if to clear it “go where?”
“Good point” Morgan said.
“I have no idea what to say” Gabriel said.
“Then don’t” Morgan said she smiled at him “there’s Dawn” Gabriel looked up and saw the unmistakeable figure sitting on the top of the hill. For a second the ember of the daemons cigarette lit up his face he stood when he saw them coming.
“Dawn” Gabriel snapped Dawn put his hands up
“don’t start shouting” he said
“Are you following me now?” Gabriel snapped.
“No I actually came to tell you” he paused “we have a problem”
“What kind of problem?” Gabriel asked taking his coat off.
“Your mothers turned up”
“What?” Gabriel shouted. Dawn caught him by the ankle as he lifted himself off the ground.
“Don’t” Dawn said pulling the vampyre back down into his arms “she's not hurting anyone”
“That’s easy for you to say” Gabriel growled.
“She’s asking to stay” Gabriel's mouth dropped open.
“And?” he asked but he had a feeling he already knew the answer.
“Maxwell's said yes” Dawn growled.
