Without any real incident, the night pass. Very few people seem to have taken an interest in me with the exception of Rorik, Alek and some teen dude which I haven't caught the name.
"Ricky, would you mind if I could have the last dance with Miss. Cassandra?" Alek asks as the music change from punk rock to a slow.
"It's the dudette's choice and stuff, but yeah, dude." The teen dude says.
"Of course." I say with a smile.
He takes my hand and leads me into the dance, following the slow and tragic classical music of the piece.
"Is this the first time you dance?" He ask gently as I clumsily miss a few steps.
"With a guy, yeah..." I admit before adding; "Since I didn't have a boyfriend, I went to prom with another girl."
He arches an eyebrow with an amused smile on his face so I continue explaining as the dance continues. "I didn't really want to go, but my best friend was single too and she convinced me to go too. Some people frowned at us but we ignored them and just had fun."
"And what happened after that?"
"Well... We kissed."
For a second he looks surprised. "Are you...?"
"Gay?" I ask, completing his sentence. "To be embarrassingly honest, I haven't really thought about it all that much, I think I might like both... I mean, does gender really matter all that much?"
"Maybe you're right."
I look down for a second and smile at him. "You know, it's kind of nice to be able to talk about all of this with someone. I really don't have anyone but my mom to talk to and I don't know, I just can't get myself to talk to her about things..."
"You're very welcome Cassandra." He says, smiling broadly, exposing his fangless teeth. "You know, since you said you like both, you won't mind this, will you?"
I'm about to ask him what he's talking about when his lips come in contact with mine. For a second I hesitate what to do, should I step away? Freeze? His breath feels and smell nice, mine must smell like booze... I've been drinking all night.
"Oh what the heck" I think to myself before deciding returning the kiss. Both of us stand one against the other for a moment, slowly and gently making out, enjoying the lips and smell of the other. The people around us are clearly looking at us, but I don't care.
"I think you might be a little inebriated Cassandra." He remark with a smile.
"That's the biggest understatement I've ever heard." I reply with a laugh.
"Let me take you home." He offers as people begin leaving.
After a car ride in the dead of the night, he drops me on the front entrance of my apartment. This time, he gives me a brief kiss on the lips as a good night token before I head back inside.
Quietly, I stumble to my room and undress before going to sleep, falling into my dreams...
