Bathroom breakMature

Over and over, for a minute or two, I splash my face with cold water. Gradually my mind clears and I feel better. But I can't figure out what happened exactly... I looked into the man's eyes and my mind went blank...

After putting my glasses back on, I look up into the mirror and notice a stocky man leaning against the wall. I flip around and face the mirror-shaded biker that intruded into the ladies' room.

"What are you doing in here?" I bark out, trying to look menacing.

"It took you a while to notice me." He simply comments amused. "I'm not here to hurt you."

"What are you doing in the women's bathroom then?"

"Talking to you, obviously."

"In here?" I comment with a sarcastic tone.

"Nobody's eavesdropping." He notes.

"Who are you and what is it that you want to tell me?"

"You have quite a good amount of guts to be hanging here of all places."

"What are you insinuating?"

"You should know." He affirm, raising an eyebrow.

"Know what?" I ask back rather confused.

"If you don't know anything, then it would be better for you to stay that way. Stay in the dark so what lurks in it cannot find you."

"How cryptic." I remark.

"I can't tell you myself. But if you want to know, you'll have to open your eyes. See what you've seen but missed. Think with your spirit, not your mind. Reconsider what is and what isn't."

"Is this supposed to enlighten me?"

"Only if you want it to."

"What are you, some kind of new-ager or guru?"

He smile at my comment. "Something similar in function but closer to the truth."

"What truth?"

He comes in closer and whisper to my ear; "It's all a lie, everything is a lie." When he moved back, he doesn't waste anymore time and walks out of the room.

"Oh, by the way, call me Shadow."

For a moment, I just stand there, leaned against the sink counter trying to piece together all this non-sense...

The End
