My place has been bugged and not sloppily, someone paid quite a lot to have it nearly impossible for me to see the damn surveillance gears. But they didn't count on me having an ace up my sleeve; Doll.
Somehow, she just knew where all the bugs where and she pointed them out. It's one of those things she do that confirm my theories of her being more than human. She knows things she can't possibly do...
The bug problem however did get me forward. I've been lying low anywhere but school, so it's very unlikely that anyone else than Alek who would be behind it.
"Did you pick something?" I ask for the tenth time to my adopted sister
Like all the last time, she shakes her head as she browse the menu all over again. It's a busy night in the dinner we're camping in so the waitress hasn't gotten the chance to see us yet. After another two minutes, she finally points something out in the menu just as the waitress walks to our table.
"Welcome to Café Duchamp, what-- Nathan?" She says when she recognize me.
"Good evening Cass."
"What are you doing here?"
"Eating for one. I figured I could talk to you."
"Well, I'm working now, but I've got a break in 20." She then looks at Doll sitting on the opposite side of me. "Who is that? Your sister?"
"Yeah. Cass, meet Doll. Doll, this is Cassandra, a classmate."
"You two don't look much alike... Wait, her name is Doll?"
"We're adopted, our mother couldn't have children. Her real name is Domnina, but she doesn't really like it." I claim, actually lying. I don't have any clue what it actually is. But since I'm not an idiot, I created fake identities; Our mother died when her cancer struck back and our father works oversea.
"Alright, I need to take your orders before my boss drags me to the next table. What will it be?"
"A cheese-steak sandwich for me and a Vegetarian cheese burger for her. I'll take a coke and can you get her one of those milkshakes? Strawberry banana."
"Alright. I'll get it as soon as possible." She says, leaving our table.
"What do you think of her?" I whisper to Doll who's quietly sitting there, chewing her nails. I should be scolding her, but that way she doesn't let them grow to incredible length like her hair. She only let me cut her toe nail ever since she got an ingrown nail last year. Before that, it was the same thing than her hair...
Like usual she doesn't answer vocally but take instead take out a pen from her pocket and draws something on the place mat. After maybe two minutes of drawing, she hands it to me on it, is a girl and a black Silhouette with a knife behind her...
"Are you sure?" I as looking up at her concerned.
"...Yes..." She whispers.
Words... Things are very, VERY serious.
